Airlocked by Bret Jordan
Choate Road gave my novella Airlocked a mixed review. It was an honest review where the reviewer liked the tension and gave the story a thumbs up on concept and plot. What she didn’t like is the length and she felt that the characters would have been more developed if the novella had been expanded into a full novel. All in all it was a descent review. Good or bad, it’s always interesting to hear what people have to say. It lets me know what works and what doesn’t.

Writing:

Didn’t make it very far this evening, but I did make some progress on Shaylee: Druid’s Staff. The magic’s about to happen, then everything is gonna get weird! 🙂

Shaylee: Druid’s Staff
Word Count: 20,800
Genre: Fantasy
The second novella in the Shaylee series.

Plague
Word Count: 53,400
Genre: Dark Fantasy/Horror
Sword and sorcery dark fantasy novel about a city under siege by zombies. Completed but in final edits.

Reading:

Last night I started reading two books. Well, it’s actually a story collection and a graphic novel.
Darker Loves by James Dorr
The story collection is entitled Darker Loves: Tales of Mystery and Regret by James Dorr, published by Dark Regions Press. I’m only two stories into it so far, but both stories were well paced and interesting.
Dark Tower: Battle of Jericho Hill
The graphic novel is a spin off of Stephen King‘s Dark Tower series entitled The Dark Tower: Battle of Jericho Hill. I’ve read the first four graphic novels and they have been awesome in both story line and artwork. This one is no disappointment.
